Become Fearless

January 11, 2017

It’s the start of a brand-new year.  For many, it is an opportunity for self-reflection.  They review the previous year in its entirety and decide if there is anything they would like to change about it.  They often develop resolutions, new ambitions and grand proclamations about how the new year will be different because they feel refreshing, exciting and limitless.

Unfortunately, it’s very easy for people to abandon their goals shortly after they create them.  There are many reasons for this – but I believe that most of those reasons boil down to being afraid of something.

Those are just the first five that popped into my head and I am sure there are more.  The only resolution I have today and every other day is to be fearless.  I’m okay with making mistakes.  I’m ok with taking risks.  I’m ok with being uncomfortable.  Why?  Because as Danielle LaPorte says, “Life unfolds in proportion to one’s courage.”  I look forward to surprising myself this year and I look forward to you joining me.

You are the only who can define success for yourself.  You could be aiming for the #1 sales award or looking for your next promotion.  You may want to turn a hobby into a profit, travel more or increase your involvement in the community.  Whether your goals are personal or professional, I can assure you that it will be difficult to accomplish anything by playing it safe and giving into your fears.

The easiest way to overcome fear is to remember why you set the goal in the first place.  Ask yourself why the goal is important to you.  Then ask yourself what will happen if you don’t achieve your goal.  After you answer the questions, you will decide that the goal isn’t really that important to you, or you will be inspired to overcome your fears and go after what you want.

Don’t fill up 2017 with missed opportunities and regrets.  Set authentic goals, decide to be fearless and make this year your best.

Remember, you are the CEO of your life.  Get ready to Create, Enhance and Own your success!
